Care Team

Established in 2003, the Care Team is a “Faith In Action” ministry designed to serve the short-term needs of the congregation and community.  Volunteers choose where and when they would like to serve in the following categories:  “Loaves and Fishes” (meal preparation and delivery), transportation (including doctor and physical therapy appointments), Visitation and caregiver respite, light Home and yard maintenance and Samaritan House Thursday dinners.  The idea is to do “what you can, when you can” so service is a shared joy and not a burden on anyone.

Congregation members are encouraged to serve in as many areas as they are able. Sign-ups for service may be made by contacting any Care Team member listed on the Leadership Roster.

Additionally, Care Team manages outreach ministry and support to the following community organizations; if you are interested in volunteering, contact may be made directly by phoning the numbers listed below:

  • Flathead Food Bank - Donations of non-perishable food may be made  at the church’s donation bin, or directly to the organization located at 1203 Hwy. 2 West. Interested in volunteering?   Contact Lori Botkin at 752-3663.
  • Flathead Youth Home - Provides shelter care and transitional living support to children in crisis between the ages of 10 and 18. For further information contact Lance Isaac at 755-4622.
  • Habitat for Humanity - Provides opportunities for home ownership to working low-income families.  New projects in local communities are always underway.  Contact the director at 257-8803.
  • Intermountain Providence Home - Offers emergency shelter for children between the ages of 0 – 10.  Contact may be made with the program liaison David Creamer at 871-0137.
  • Neighbors In Need  - This is a faith-based fund of last resort administered through area churches.  Contact  Sheri Stevens at 752-7266.
  • Samaritan House - Provides a broad range of services and support to the homeless.  Contact Director Chris Krager at 257-5801.
  • Violence Free Crisis Line/Abbie Shelter -Provides assistance to women and children leaving abusive homes and offers supportive services to live safe and healthy lives.  Contact 752-4735 for further information.
