Macedonian Ministry

January 9-24th the pastors who are participating in the Macedonian Ministry will begin a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Pastor Miriam will be part of this ministry trip. This pilgrimage is a part of the two-year Macedonian Ministry project which is funded by a grant from the CF Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity since neither the pastors, churches, nor the presbytery will have to provide funding for this trip. We are deeply grateful to the Foundation for providing this incredible opportunity.

It is important to note the distinction between a pilgrimage and a tour. A pilgrimage is a scared, spiritual journey. The pastors will not be touring the Holy Land, they will be walking, praying and reflecting in the very places where Jesus walked, prayed and reflected. It has been said that after a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, all readings from the Bible take on a whole new perspective.

The pilgrimage is not the only aspect of the Macedonian Ministry project. The two-year project includes five two-day retreats each year. These retreats focus on book studies with Eugene Peterson, spiritual development, congregational revitalization and numerical growth, developing a climate of teamwork within the presbytery and creating a presbytery-wide outreach ministry. The M&M pastors have chosen to develop new expressions of church as a presbytery wide mission focus.

Give a Warm Welcome to our New Camp Director, Dave Saugen!

Dave started his work at Glacier Camp & Conference Center on Monday, January 2nd. He will be living in the camp apartment and traveling periodically back and forth from Plain, Washington, where his wife Christy and three young children live. The family hopes to quickly sell their home in Washington and look for a place in Kalispell.

Christy tells us to look out for Dave in worship. The family looks forward to worshipping with us in the days and years ahead!
